MAS Publishes SAFR White Paper on Safeguards for AI Agents in Finance

MAS, together with leading financial institutions and FinTechs under its BuildFin.ai initiative, published the Safeguards for Agentic Finance at Runtime (SAFR) white paper on 3 July 2026. The industry-developed framework sets out governance checkpoints that verify and record an AI agent's proposed actions before execution, covering policy-bound execution, real-time validation, auditability and interoperability. Demonstrated use cases include automated payments and treasury operations, wealth management document review, and AI-generated client engagement materials.
